The key to surviving critical and life threatening situation is preparedness.
In situations of a pandemic or epidemic or any such medical emergencies, it is advisable to have a “Go Bag” (also called Bug-Out Bag) with all required supplies for 3 Days to 10 Days. Keeping such a Go-Bag prepared will give you some confidence and you will not be worried or stressed when such situations happen. Even if you are sure that all will be normal in future or you are not planning to go anywhere, having a Bug-Out bag ready can become a difference between life and death.
FORTH News recommends always making a Small to Medium-sized Go-bag which should have comfortable straps so a person can carry it for long durations, it should be light in weight and durable for rough usage. As per situations you can even be saved or moved to a safe location earlier or even later than 10 Days, but this bag will offer supplies for longer than 10 days as well if you utilize it conservatively.
In general, basic living elements like Clean air, drinkable water, food for energy, hygiene equipment and medicines.
The second is to have enough variety of clothes in your go bag to face all weather conditions. You will require fabrics to cover the face or skin, special type of masks for different situations and scenarios.
It is always recommended to keep at least a month’s supply of medicines or any other prescriptions you require or may require. You can require medicines for reduction or for controlling any possible symptoms; like medicines that can relieve cough, reduce fever, antibiotics, pain killers, cough syrups and a supplementary for primary pills.
(WHO does not recommend any self-prescribed medication to cure or resolve coronavirus, if you have symptoms, get tested for COVID within 24 hours)
In addition to personal medication, you can also keep a small versatile first aid kit inside your bag. Include thermometers, oxymeters and Band-Aids. FULL LIST BELOW
Separate one pouch of your go-bag only for medical equipment and supplies. It is ideal to choose the pouch that is easiest to open and reach into. Make sure you can get to this pouch under 3 seconds in all conditions.
